Nokia 7.1 Specs and Features
HMD Global announced a mid-range smartphone the Nokia 7.1 with 19:9 aspects ratio, in October 2018. The HMD launched the smartphone with Android 8.1 and promised to upgrade to Android 9 (pie). The smartphone comes with 5.84” IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080x2280 pixels resolution, 16M color depth, and 432 PPI density. The button-shaped fingerprint scanner is mounted on the back beneath the camera. The smartphone has aluminum body coated with front and back Gorilla Glass 3+HDR compliant. The 79.9% screen to body ratio shows that the smartphone has a nearly bezel-less notched display.
The smartphone is powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, 1.8GHz Octa-Core processor, and Adreno 509 GPU. The 3/4GB RAM of this flagship style handset is paired with 32/64GB internal storage that can be extended up to 400GB via microSD card. The Nokia 7.1 brings Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, EDR, LE, aptX plus micro USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and USB-OTG. Unlike all other smartphones, the Nokia 7.1 has a hybrid nano-SIM tray mounted on the left upper side of the cell-phone.
The front curved notch of the smartphone contains a speaker and tear-dropped groove for the front selfie camera that has an 8MP sensor and f/2.0 aperture and some beauty effects. The back has a pill-shaped shell for dual rear cameras, the one with 12MP, f/1.8 aperture and 2x PDAF attributed with Zeiss optics, dual LED dual-tone flash, geo-tagging, touch-focus and face-detection, panorama, HDR mode and the other with a 5MP sensor, f/2.4 aperture, autofocus. The rear camera of the smartphone has the capability to record 2160p or 1080p at 30fps
The Li-lon 3060 battery is non-removable which provides 19hrs (3G) talk time and 408hrs stand by and supports 18W fast charger. Unfortunately, the smartphone has no wireless charger. Accelerometer, gyro, compass, proximity sensors and some connectivity features like Wi-Fi 802.11, direct Wi-Fi, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, NFS, and hotspot are also equipped in this stylish handset to facilitate the user. The body of the smartphone is of one color and gets another color treatment around its perimeter. The Nokia 7.1 is available at retail stores in two colors gloss midnight blue and gloss steel. The HMD Global launched its flagship featured at a very reasonable price. It costs only $400.
