Xiaomi Redmi 5 unveiled ahead of its launch

Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are scheduled to launch on December 7. The Event will take place in China on Thursday. Ahead of that announcement, Xiaomi shared some pictures of Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus on its official twitter account. Nothing is mentioned there about specs. But the images are giving a good idea about the smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 5 has a big screen display with the aspect ratio of 18:9. A fingerprint scanner is available on the back below a primary camera lens. Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is looking like the Redmi 5 so we suggest that it may have successor chipset or more memory than the original Redmi 5.

Last week, Xiaomi Redmi 5 was leaked by the Chinese telecom website, TENAA, which has also mentioned some key features of the device. It is reported that the Redmi 5 houses a 5.7-inch (18:9) display, HD+ resolution, and MIUI 9 interface based on Android 7.1.2 OS. It is powered by either of Mediatek Helio P20 or Snapdragon 625 chipset. As for the other specs, the Redmi 5 has 12MP rear camera, backside flashlight and 5MP selfie shooter. It will be available in three variants – 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM, 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB Memory. Xiaomi Redmi 5 is rumored to have 1399 Yuan price (roughly $210) but we don’t confirm. Another report claims that the Redmi 5 will be available in black, blue, pink and gold color. The official launch is three days later from now so get ready to meet with new budget friendly smartphones.
