Samsung Galaxy Express 2 Review, a faster and smoother user experience

Samsung Galaxy Express 2

Samsung has introduced a new Galaxy smart phone in its line-up, the Galaxy Express 2. However, the company has not announced the pricing of the device, and neither has it revealed whether the device will be headed to other countries or carriers. Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland said, \"Our latest addition to the Galaxy portfolio, the Galaxy Express 2 has been designed to provide a faster and smoother user experience. As with all smart phones in our Galaxy range, the Galaxy Express 2 is packed full of intuitive features and smart functions, offering customers superior performance.\"

Design

In short, the Samsung Galaxy Express looks similar to the Samsung Galaxy S3 but smaller. Though it is not as premium feeling, it has the same long rectangular shape, curved corners, and oval home button.

The device measures 5.22 inches tall, 2.73 inches wide, and its thin profile is 0.36 inch. At 4.8 ounces, it is also lightweight. Though it is too tall to fit entirely in small front pockets on jeans, it is comfortable when held in the hand or pinned between the ear and shoulder, and it easily slips into small clutches and bags.

Features

The Samsung Galaxy Express 2 comes with 4.5-inch qHD display with a 540x960 pixels resolution. The new Galaxy smart phone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It is powered by 1.7GHz dual-core processor along with 1.5GB of RAM. The smart phone measures 132.4x65.7x9.8mm and comes with NFC and LTE support. It includes 8GB of inbuilt storage and also comes with micro SD card support. The Samsung Galaxy Express 2 will be available in two color variants Ceramic White and Blue. Additional features include NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, mobile hot-spotting, 8GB of internal memory, and 1GB of RAM.

Relevance

The Galaxy Express 2 also comes with host of Samsung applications such as Smart Stay, that uses facial recognition to detect when the phone is in use, as well as Group Play which allows you to share music, documents and photos with other compatible Samsung devices. In addition, the new handset also features S Travel, Story Album and S Translator making Samsung\'s latest device the perfect travel companion.

Applications

The handset runs on Android 4.0.4 and packs numerous Google apps like Gmail, Plus, Local, Maps with Navigation, Messenger, portals to Play Books, Magazines, Movies and TV, Music, and Store, Google Talk, Search, and YouTube. Basic task management apps include a native browser and e-mail client, a calculator, a calendar, a clock with alarm functions, a memo pad, music and video players, and a voice recorder.

Camera and video

Camera features include a flash; a 4x digital zoom; four shooting modes, which include panorama and cartoon, four photo effects and 14 scene modes. It also includes an exposure meter, six photo sizes (640x480 pixels to 2,560x1,920 pixels).

Battery

The plastic back plate has a glossy smooth finish, which makes it susceptible to accumulating fingerprints. Using an indentation up top, you can remove the plate to access the 2,000mAh battery and expandable micro SD card slot.
