Redmi 9 reported to have a quad rear camera setup and Helio G80 SoC

The Redmi 9 is rumored to unveil as a successor to the Redmi 8. A leak says the phone will launch in the third quarter of this year. Today (28-March), a leak has revealed specifications of the smartphone as well as an image that showcases the rear design. According to the tipster (Sudhanshu Ambhore), the Redmi 9 will be powered by MediaTek’s Helio G80 chipset. This is the same chipset inside the Realme 6i that was announced over a week ago.

The Redmi 9 could come in multiple configurations with the base model having 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The configuration of the rear cameras has also revealed in the leak. The leaked image shows the Redmi 9’s design is inspired by that of the Redmi K30. Three of the cameras are arranged vertically in a single housing shared with a fingerprint scanner. To the left of this setup is a smaller housing that holds the fourth camera and LED flash. The whole setup is inside a ring, but it is flush with the rest of the body, unlike that of the Redmi K30. The leakster also revealed that the Redmi 9 would be available in Purple and Green colors.
