CES 2016 is more about HDR TVs and smart appliances rather than tablets and smartphones. Few mobile makers announced upcoming handsets in CES 2016. LG is amongst those mobile manufacturers who are coming with new mobiles. LG announced new mobiles in the K series name LG K7, and LG K10.
LG K series is a descendant of admiring LG L series, which announced the 3rd generation last year and became pretty difficult to differentiate. So, we appreciate the LG to bring up new series instead of pushing a long list of models in one series. The K7 and K10 are mid-range mobiles; in specifications both mobiles are pretty much similar to V-series and Premium G mobiles.
Design
Exterior of LG K7 and LG K10 does look similar to previous models, but we expect to have something new inside. The LG K7 comes with a clean lusterless back, whereas LG K10 has a textured glossy back. K7 sometimes better to handle due to the more compact size and lack of glossiness.
It seems that LG K10 will borrow looks from G series, you will see control desk bellow the main camera. The design has proven very comfortable and easy to handle. Apart from that the company is planning to give glossy design to LG K10.
It is also heard that the company has designed and planning to sell flip cases for LG K10. The LG K10 case will cover whole mobile except right side, transparent sheet will cover the right side, so the case style will allow users to see notifications, clock, date and missed events from the right side. The case will allow you to answer telephone calls without flipping the cover. Might be LG will not sell K7 cases so mobile cases will come via third parties.
Specifications
LG K7 features a 5-inch screen, and offers a FWVGA IPS display (480x854px) which is planned to offer in two models such as 3G and LTE. 3G model will have a quad-core CPU ticking at 1.3GHz and LG K7 LTE version is powered by quad-core 1.1GHz processor. The LG K7 will come in memory option too like 8GB and 16GB internal memory. The 8GB model will have a 1GB RAM will come with 1.5GB of RAM. In the camera department, LG k7 will come with 8MP camera or 5MP rare camera, while the front camera will be 5MP and the device will hold a 2,125 mAh battery.
LG K10 has a 5.3" IPS 720p display and a 64-bit processor with a diverse amount of RAM such as 1GB, 1.5GB, 2GB. It will depend on the market of distribution and the device has a 2,300 mAh bettery. LG K10 will come with an 8MP or 13MP rare camera, and 8GB or 16GB expandable storage. The device will be powered by three different CPU options.
The LG K10 3G model has a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and 8MP camera only. While, LTE model of LG K10 will come with an octa-core 1.14 GHz or a quad-core 1.2GHz processor. The LG K 7 and LG K10 both run Android Lollipop but we can expect that the company will have planned to shift it on Android Marshmallow as well.
Carriers & Price
In the US, LG K7 will be available on Boost mobiles. Price and launch date of both mobiles LG K7 and LG K10 is not conformed yet, but we would see both mobiles late First Quarter of 2016.
