After launching the next-generation Pixel flagship smartphones — Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, tech giant Google is now gearing up to unveil a new mid-range phone "Pixel 4a" which will be the successor to the Pixel 3a. The Google Pixel 4a was expected to get officially announced at Google I/O 2020 Press conference in May this year. However, the company has now canceled the planned I/O 2020 this year, so it remains to be seen when the phone gets launched. In a statement, Google's spokesperson said: "Due to concerns around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in accordance with health guidance from the CDC, WHO, and other health authorities, we have decided to cancel the physical Google I/O event at Shoreline Amphitheatre." The company has also said that it will refund those who bought tickets to Google I/O, and it also confirmed that Google has banned international employee travel.

Ahead of the launch, real-life images of the upcoming Pixel 4a budget smartphone (by Slashleaks) have surfaced online, revealing the design of the device from the front as well as back. From the first look at the leaked images, it's clear that the Google Pixel 4a is small in size, and the company is also offering rounded corners on the handset. It has narrow bezels around the display, and the screen has a punch-hole in the top-left corner. On the rear panel, the phone will have a single camera sensor along with an LED flash which are placed on a square-shaped camera module to ensure that the design language of the phone seems similar to the Pixel 4 series. There's also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication.
