Oppo A12 launched with a 6.22-inch display and 4230 mAh battery

OPPO A12 smartphone has been launched in Indonesia as a new entrant to the company’s A-series phones. The budget-friendly Oppo A12 has a diamond cut design at the back with dual rear cameras, a fingerprint sensor for security and OPPO branding. The handset has a waterdrop notch on the front to house the selfie camera and a sizeable chin below the screen. Key specifications of the OPPO A12 include a 4,230mAh battery, a 6.22-inch HD+ display, and Helio P35 SoC.

The OPPO A12 sports a 6.22-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1520 pixels, 89 percent screen-to-body ratio, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layer and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by a 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor coupled with PowerVR GE8320 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that is further expandable via microSD card. The OPPO A12 runs on Android 9.0 Pie OS overlaid with ColorOS 6.1 custom skin. In terms of optics, the OPPO A12 has a dual-camera setup at the back comprising of a 13MP primary and a 2MP secondary lens. The optics can record 1080p videos and come with 6x digital zoom, portrait mode, AR stickers, professional mode, panorama, and timelapse. On the front, there is a 5MP snapper for selfies and video chats. The handset houses a 4,230mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

Price

The OPPO A12 is priced at 24, 99,000 Indonesian Rupiah, which roughly translates to somewhere around $161. The device comes in two color variants – black and blue. So far, the company has not given any official word on when the device will be launched in the remaining parts of the world.
