Oneplus 5 vs 5T, here is the main difference

Almost the specs and features of Oneplus 5 and 5T are same even the price of both is similar. The Major differences between Oneplus 5 and 5T are Design, Display and Performance.

  1. Design

Oneplus 5 and 5T, both are made of aluminum frame, and a glass equipped on front. But the Oneplus 5 measures 154 mm height and weighs 153 grams while the Oneplus 5T has 156 mm height and 162 grams weight which means the later one is taller and weighty than the previous. The advantage of Oneplus 5T, it is bigger and more beautiful while the disadvantage is its heavier weight. The fingerprint sensor finds on front when we come to the Oneplus 5 whereas the Oneplus 5T has fingerprint sensor on rear where it is easier to reach. Other design features of both smartphones are same including dual SIM tray, power button, volume controllers, USB port and audio socket.

The Optic AMOLED technology is present in both handsets but the Oneplus 5 sports a 5.5-inch display and 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution while the Oneplus 5T has 6-inch bigger display and 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. The larger screen gives more estate to user for web browsing and watching so the 5T is better than its sibling. The other difference is the Oneplus 5 display ratio is 16:9 which is not latest but the Oneplus 5T has 18:9 screen ratio according to the latest trend. Oxygen OS 4.5.10 was installed in Oneplus 5 whereas the 5T got new Oxygen OS 4.7 which comes with many new improvements. Additionally, Oneplus 5T is supported with DCI-P3 for wider color range therefore you can get a better watching experience.

3. Performance

We can understand the performance easily by the benchmark test results. Oneplus 5 got 83 hours endurance rating, 4300 scores of Basemark OS II, 38844 scores of Basemark X, and 3.914 marks in Sunlight Contrast Ratio performance. On the other hand, Oneplus 5T gets 82h endurance rating, 4235 marks in Basemark OS II performance, 38656 marks in Basemark X, and 4.789 score in Sunlight Contrast Ratio performance.  The conclusion is that the Oneplus 5 is superior for gaming and programming but for watching the 5T is better.

As for the other specs, Oneplus 5 and 5T, both have Snapdragon 835 chipset, Adreno 540 GPU, 3300mAh battery, 6GB/8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB Storage, dual 16MP + 20MP primary snappers, and a single 16MP front camera. Both smartphones are based on Android OS 7.1.1 (Nougat).
