Google Pixel 5a 5G to come with SDM 765G SoC

Google Pixel 5a 5G, the upcoming phone from Google, is said to arrive on June 11. Last month, leaked information by tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (OnLeaks) revealed that the upcoming Google Pixel 5a would have the same design as the existing Google Pixel 4a and the Pixel 5 devices. Now, the latest report confirms the chipset of the device.

Google Pixel 5a 5G in Canada

9to5Google reports that they have discovered multiple references to the codename “Barbet” - which is believed to be a codename for the Pixel 5a 5G - in the latest Android 12 Developer Preview. The references were alongside the model number “sm7250”, which is said to be part number of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC.

According to previous reports, Pixel 5a is said to have a 6.2-inch FHD+ OLED display and may get a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone may have a square-shaped dual camera setup at the back. The Google Pixel 5a is likely to boot Android 12 OS out of the box, pack 4GB/6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. The recently leaked renders revealed that the Pixel 5a 5G will have a punch-hole cutout on the top left corner for the selfie snapper. It will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The volume rocker and power button are on the right side.
