Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro Unveiled with the world’s first 48MP Quad Camera setup (Updated)

As it promised, Oppo’s subsidiary unleashed today (Aug 20) two stunning new smartphones, the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro. The event took place in New Delhi, India. Flipkart becomes the first to get newer Realme phones. The pre-orders are starting now while the actual sales will begin on September 4.

Talking about pricing schedule, the Realme 5 prices for 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB, and 4GB/128GB models are respectively as INR 9,999 ($139), INR 10,999 ($153) and INR 11,999 ($167).

Seeing the starter phone price we can say Madhav was true to his comment “Realme 5 to be the first Quad Camera phone in India under 10k”. 

On the contrary side, the Realme 5 Pro prices are as INR 13,999 ($195), INR 14,999 ($209) and INR 16,999 ($237) for 4GB/64GB, 6GB/64GB, and 8GB/128GB memory variants.

Although many competitor brands such as Redmi and Honor were saying to implement four cameras incl. a 48MP one in a budget phone, Realme be this first to bring such innovations to affordable mobile customers.

Unfortunately, the Realme 5 has four cams but the main is 12MP, not 48MP while Realme 5 Pro completed its promise and have a 48MP lens. The other three lenses are ultrawide, Super Macro and Portrait. So let’s leap to the quad-camera and have an album of splendid 4k shots.

Exploring more on specs, Realme 5 is slightly bigger at 6.5inches while Realme 5 Pro shrines to 6.3inches, and they are on the same track, we mean LCD FHD+ Display. The Crystal Design with the holographic color effect is pretty cool, and it sealed tightly for splash resistance. There is a selfie notch above the full-fledged screen.

In terms of OS, Realme 5 series is running on Android 9 Pie along ColorOS 6 on top. There are lots of new Android updates and Google ARCore to enjoy something innovative.

Realme 5 comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, whereas the Realme 5 Pro used to embed SD712 chipset - its architecture is based on the latest technology for a seamless experience.
