Today (27-July), Qualcomm launched its new Quick Charge 5 fast charging technology that can charge devices from 0 to 50 percent in just five minutes. This new fast charging tech is 70% more efficient and up to 4 times faster than Quick Charge 4 while also being up to 10 degrees Celsius cooler.
The Quick Charge 5 technology supports more than 100W charging capabilities, while its predecessor Quick Charge 4+ supported 45W power. Compared to the Quick Charge 4 and Quick Charge 4+, the Quick Charge 5 technology is claimed to provide up to a 10-degree Celsius cooler experience on a 4,000mAh battery. The new development is also rated to be 10 times more powerful than the first-generation Quick Charge tech. The Quick Charge 5 technology can charge a battery from zero to 100 percent in 15 minutes. This is significantly faster than the Quick Charge 4 Plus, that can charge a battery from 0 to 15 percent in 15 minutes. Of course, with those super-fast charging speeds, you're also going to want some safety features to protect your phone. Quick Charge 5 includes 12 separate voltage, current, and temperature protections, including USB-input overvoltage protection at 25V and external power controls beyond 30V. Another new safety feature of Quick Charge 5 is Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities.
