Finally, Samsung unveils the Galaxy A8s with the amazing Infinity ‘O’ Display which has a hole in screen at the top-left corner for the selfie camera lens. There is no notch or bezel and you are getting massive 84% screen-to-body ratio and 19.5:9 viewing aspects. The back is covered with a stunning 3D glass.
Samsung Galaxy A8s has many highlighting features such as Android 9.0 (Pie) the latest OS, premium design, 6.4 inches bigger display, triple rear camera setup, 10nm SD710 chip SoC and a whopping 8GB RAM.
With the IP68 rating, the metal body of Galaxy A8s can survive under up to 1.5 meters liquid for 30 minutes. It measures 158.4 x 74.9 x 7.4 mm dimensions and 173 grams weight. The device comes in three colors Gradient Blue, Elves Blue and Aurora Green. It supports advanced 3G and 4G LTE bands.
The Samsung A8s chooses IPS LCD Display lacking the AMOLED display technology to keep prices down. This Always-on Display has 1080x2340 pixels resolution for bright pictures. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is used to equip on screen for protection.
The Smartphone is powered by 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset for smooth performance. It is coupled with Octa-core processor of 2.2GHz and Adreno 616 GPU. The Galaxy A8s is offered in two RAM variants, 6GB and 8GB. Both models have a microSD slot and 128GB Internal Storage. The gadget houses a Non-removable Li-Ion 3300mAh Battery enabled with Fast Charging Option. Sadly, it ditches the 3.5 mm earphone jack.
Talking about optics, the Samsung Galaxy A8s has AI-powered Triple Rear Cameras, 24MP + 10MP + 5MP. The primary 24MP sensor is a wide-angle lens with f/1.7 aperture, the 10MP lens is a telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and the 5MP lens is a depth sensor. You will some new good improvements in the camera enhanced portrait shoots. Coming to the front, there is a 24MP Selfie Camera with f/2.0 aperture and HDR support for a better shooting experience. Samsung A8s allows Face Unlock as well as the rear Fingerprint Unlock.
