An official teaser by Redmi on Weibo revealed the brand’s plans about what's coming up next. It is a sample of the 64MP camera in which a Cat pictured with zoomed-in detailed Eye content, showing how much higher megapixels optics will take photography to the new heights. It could be a great success if Xiaomi would be the world’s first company to assemble a 64MP camera smartphone.
Sony has not yet built any 64MP lens; therefore, analysts suggest Xiaomi will go to Samsung for its recently launched 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor. There are two reasons; Samsung is reliable and there’s no one else in the market with such optics, waiting for another could make it too late.
That teaser didn’t reveal which smartphone will get a 64MP sensor, or when it will be introduced around the globe.
What we expect? Redmi 64MP phone will debut in Q3 2019, and it will belong to a high-end mobile series, possible armed an SD855 chipset, and we may see some other flagship features too i.e. a bigger AMOLED display, massive 6/8 GB RAM, top performance, and a longer life battery of 4,000 mAh around. Xiaomi often launches affordable smartphones, and that 64MP cell phone is also going to join the list of world’s cheapest flagship smartphones, for example, Poco F1 and Redmi Note 7, etc.
