The OPPO A91 and A8 have been launched with MediaTek Chipsets in China. The OPPO A91 is a mid-range device while OPPO A8 is a low budget mobile phone. Initially, both devices have announced in China, and the first sale will begin on December 26 (China). Unfortunately, OPPO hasn’t shared a global launch scheduled for OPPO A91 and A8, but as expected, these arrive soon.
OPPO A91 and OPPO A8 features and differences
OPPO A91 and A8 have many differences, like camera setups, Chipsets, displays, battery capacities, and resolutions. One interesting difference is – the OPPO A91 has a quad-camera setup and UD fingerprint sensor, while the budget-friendly A8 offers a triple camera setup and rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The OPPO A91 measures 160.2 x 73.3 x 7.9 mm (6.31 x 2.89 x 0.31 in) while A8 measures 163.9 x 75.5 x 8.3 mm (6.45 x 2.97 x 0.33 in). The OPPO A91 has 172 grams of weight while you’ll pick slightly heavyweight (180 grams) with the A8 model.
The OPPO A91 features a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED display with the Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, on the other OPPO A8 flaunts a 6.5 inches slightly bigger screen (IPS LCD), but it can support HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. Both devices have a 20:9 aspect ratio, but A8 has 270 PPI density instead of A91’s 411 PPI density. Both devices run Android 9 Pie customized with ColorOS 6.1 as well. On the inside, the OPPO A91 is powered by MediaTek Helio P70 Chipset constructed on a 12nm Octa-core processor while A8 comes with Helio P35 SoC (12nm) SoC. Let’s talk about camera setups; the OPPO A91 has a quad-camera setup including a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth lens with f/2.4 aperture. Photography lovers get a triple camera mechanism on A8, which includes a 12MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Both smartphones can record FHD videos at 30fps, but OPPO A91 also offers to record 4k video at 30fps. For selfie experience, the OPPO A91 has a 16MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture while OPPO A8 houses an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and you can record FHD videos.
The OPPO A8 has a 4,230 mAh battery capacity, but it can’t offer a fast charging option. On the other hand, the OPPO A91 packs a 4025 mAh (slightly small battery), and it also supports up to 30W for fast charging. You can charge a 50% battery only in 30 minutes with VOOC Flash 4.0 Charger. Furthermore, both devices have 128GB native storage, but OPPO A8 comes with 4GB of RAM instead of A91’s 8GB RAM. The OPPO A8 has available in Green and Black colors while OPPO A91 offers three color options - Dark Blue, Red, and Blue. You can buy OPPO A91 priced at $280 price while OPPO A8 costs only $170.
