Gionee has unveiled a new Android smartphone – Gionee Steel 5 with a water-drop notch and a square-shaped quad rear camera setup. The company said that Steel 5 has a “tough and stylish design.” Initially, the phone has arrived in China, while other markets will receive it soon. The Gionee Steel 5 has a 6.2 inches display with a water-drop notch for the front-facing camera. The IPS LCD of the phone provides an HD+ resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. The rear side panel of the phone has a square-shaped camera setup that houses two sensors and a pair of LED flash. There are a 12MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary shooter that is coupled with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) technology. The Gionee Steel 5 offers a 13MP sensor on the front for capturing selfie shots. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t revealed the name of the processor. The device has two RAM options, such as 4GB and 6GB, and it runs AmigoOS skin based on the Android 9 Pie operating system. Besides, the Steel 5 packs a 5,000 mAh battery that connected with an intelligent power management system.
