Micromax Canvas Mega 2 with 6 inch Display Debuted at $120

After releasing Canvas Spark 2 Plus now Micromax launched its new Canvas Mega 2 handset. The device is available in India for INR 7,999 (around $120).

The budget smartphone Micromax Canvas Mega 2 features a 6-inch QHD display with 540x960 pixels resolution; the mobile carries a largest display in the cost segment. There is a 3000 mAh battery inside the device that keeps the mobile on. The mobile is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. The user can also expand internal storage via MicroSD up to 128GB.


The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 comes with 8MP primary camera with autofocus, LED flash and also a 5MP secondary camera. The mobile supports GPRS/ EDGE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, 3G, and 4G LTE connectivity in India. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.


The Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro announced last month and both devices will be debuted in upcoming weeks. Micromax firm says that the Canvas Mega 2 is intended to make stronger the phablet portfolio in the country. In the phablet segment the company has more than 15% market share, said by company.


Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Shubhajit Sen said that, “With the release of the Canvas Mega 2 we will drive the value for money phablet group in the country by tackling major consumer sting points of better performance knowledge and more efficiency on-the-go at troublesome price points. Moreover, the new mobile will be companion for viewing cricket and it will enable consumers to watch cricket at high quality display”.
