Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Rumors, Release Date, Price and Features
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are ready to launch today, on October 9. The Launch Event will take place in New York, USA. So, we are here with all the latest leaks, rumors and reports in one place to offer you a better concept about the Google 2018 Pixel smartphones.
Rumors Round-up
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL have certified by NCC (National Comunications Comission) in Taiwan.
Pixel Ultra
Google has been rumored to launch three handsets codenamed as Albacore, Blueline and Crosshatch this year for a couple of weeks. Now, a report from a Russian leakster, Rozetked suggests two of them will be Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL while there would be a more powerful version, Pixel Ultra. Google has revealed the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL via its invitation card and other leaks, but there is no confirmation or word on the existence of any ultra pixel smartphone so you should take it with a grain of salt.
Pre-orders, Pricing and Shipment
Google is affiliating with Foxconn subsidiary FIH Mobile, which is known for iPhones manufacturing, to assemble Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
Recently, Google has made official through a promotional email that the Potential Pixel Buyers can pre-order Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL right after the October 9 announcement. Therefore, we can say that the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL would surely be available for pre-order on October 10. Google has not revealed shipment details, but following the previous pattern the 2018 Pixel smartphones will be started shipping by the end of October or in early November 2018.
Price
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL prices were starting at $649 and $849. Therefore, it is expected that the standard Pixel 3 and its XL model respectively will get a price tag around $700 and $900. Bigger storage variants will be $100 more expensive than the other models.
Software
Google Pixel 3 and its XL model are coming with Android stocks. There is the latest Android OS v9.0 (Pie) with more beautiful interface, optimized performance and some additional settings. Like the other Pixel family, you will receive security patches and Android updates regularly. The Android 9.0 (Pie) also brings 28 live new background wallpapers for the Pixel 3 and 3 XL. So, you can download fresh wallpapers and use them easily.
Design and Display
An XDA developer leaked some renders which are showing that new Google’s Pixel 3 and its XL model are slightly different as compared to the predecessors. Google Pixel 3 will have smaller bezels, 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9 mm dimensions, and 5.4 inches OLED Display with 18:9 aspects ratio.
On the other hand, Google Pixel 3 XL will get a top-notch, 6.2 inches OLED Display, 19:9 aspects ratio, and 158 x 76.6 x 7.9 mm dimensions.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL would be IP68 rated to ensure dust and water resistance. The renders claimed that a Fingerprint Scanner will be there on the back of Google 2018 Pixel smartphones. You’ll find a USB-C port at the bottom but no audio jack.
Rumors are assured that Pixel devices would have dual front-facing cameras and a single rear camera.
The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL might have customizable active edges to squeeze for shortcuts, just like the HTC U11. The Squeezing sides also make it easier to call the Google Assistant.
Google Pixel 2 will have FHD+ and Pixel 2 XL will have QHD+ resolution but some rumors told that both new Pixel flagships will have Full View display and 1440 x 2880 pixels resolution. If it comes true, then the Pixel 3 will be brighter than Pixel 3 XL due to lesser pixels per inch density on a bigger screen.
Body Colors
There are many rumors about the 2018 Google Pixel devices. The Evleaks on Twitter revealed a Clearly White color variant of the pixel family. The twitter post is showing a mint-colored button on the right. Some other renders and leaks are also claiming a mint-colored Power key on the Pixel 3 and an Orange-colored Power key on the XL model.
A similar report comes from Ishan Agarwal who recently leaked some pixel smartphone images which revealed a black color variant with a mint paint job on its power button. In addition, John Prosser posted a pink color version of Google Pixel 3. All in all, we can say that the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be available at least in three colors White, Black and Pink.
Camera and Face Unlock
Many rumor’s report claimed that Google Pixel 3 and its XL model will be launched with Dual Selfie Cameras and a Single Rear Optics Lens instead a Dual Rear Camera setup. It will surly be a big humiliation for a 2018 flagship smartphone, but perhaps this time Google wants to surprise selfie lovers.
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are expected to have a 12MP (f/1.8) Rear Camera, OIS, dual PDAF, laser AF, dual LED flash, panorama, HDR, and Dual 8MP + 8MP Front Cameras. It is rumored that the primary 8MP Selfie Camera would allow you to switch f/1.8 to f/2.2 aperture while the secondary 8MP Selfie Camera would have a f/1.8 fixed aperture.
It is expected that Google will offer more authentic facial recognition system for the fastest and secure Face Unlock.
The Pixel 3 and its XL model will come with the latest Android 9.0 so there will be a new emoji, or may be the Google will introduce a new feature which would allow you to create Animated Emoji.
Internal Specs
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are likely to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, Adreno 630 GPU and Octa-core processor with a clock rate of 2.8GHz.
We guessed a 6GB RAM for Pixel 3 and 8GB RAM for Pixel 3 XL. Google Pixel 3 would be offered in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB Storage variants whereas Google Pixel 3 XL would be available in 128GB, 256GB and a 512GB variant.
Wireless Charging Support and Battery
According to rumors, Google will use to equip glass back instead of metal for Pixel 3 and 3 XL. It indicates that both the handsets will support Wireless Charging Option.
Perhaps the Pixel 2 and 2 XL will have 2700mAh and 3520mAh batteries. It is expected that the Pixel 3 will get at least a 2900mAh battery while the Pixel 3 XL will have a massive 4000mAh battery. Fast Charging Option would be enabled to save the user’s precious time.
Connectivity
Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will support Nano-SIM, 3G and 4G VoLTE, WiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and USB Type C reversible connector.
