IDC Surveys Shows Half of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Users Switched to iPhone

After Samsung Galaxy Note 7 disaster, the company asked its Note 7 customers to replace their smartphone with Galaxy S7, or Galaxy S7 Edge. Samsung is offering money back or even an upgrade program for 2017 year.

After Galaxy Note 7 recall, IDC did a small survey which explores Note 7 users who switched to other companies handsets. The online survey was conducted in the US on 1082 consumers right after Samsung discontinued the Galaxy Note 7 from its lineup. The 24 Galaxy Note 7 users claimed that they have returned their smartphone for cash and opted for Apple iPhone instead of sticking to Samsung devices.


Though, 17% users of Galaxy Note 7 said that they will go for another Samsung smartphone. These figures are not epic, what 24 users believe cannot really clarification for the universal sentiment of the lacs of Note 7 buyers. The survey shows that how Samsung lost its few loyal customers.


Of all the 1082 consumers surveyed, 507 are Samsung smartphone users, 347 users were Samsung owners in the past, 228 owners never owned a Samsung smartphone, and 24 were current Note 7 users. The research agency also found out that even although the Galaxy Note 7 recall cost the company billions of dollars, it didn't force their generally brand as much. A majority of respondents said it would not impact future decisions to buy Samsung appliances and electronics.
