After much awaited, the lite variants of Samsung S10 and Samsung Note 10 announced today (3, January 2020), The Galaxy S10 Lite and Note 10 Lite are quite different, but both Lite versions have a lot in common. Both Smartphones feature triple rear cameras, 32MP selfie shooters (in punch-hole), and 6GB/8GB RAMs. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is available in Aura Glow, Aura Black, and Aura Red colors while Galaxy S10 Lite has Prism White, Prism Black, and Prism Blue color options. According to Samsung, both devices will go on sale by the end of Q1. The Galaxy S10 Lite costs $700 while you can purchase Galaxy Note 10 Lite for $650.
Design, details, and differences
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite bestows 6.7 inches Super AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has 87.8% screen-to-body ratio and measures 162.5 x 75.6 x 8.1 mm (6.40 x 2.98 x 0.32 in) dimensions while the weight is 186 grams. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite features a similar display with FHD+ resolution, but it dimensionally measures 163.7 x 76.1 x 8.7 mm (6.44 x 3.00 x 0.34 in) and weight is 199 grams. The major difference between the two handsets is that the Galaxy Note 10 Lite arrives with Stylus Pen while the Galaxy S10 Lite has the company's new Super Steady OIS for its main camera (better stabilization than its flagships). Both phones have centered punch-holes for 32MP selfie shooters with f/2.2 aperture. The Lite versions also offer Always-on display and HDR features. On the software side, the Samsung Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Lite run One UI 2 based on the top of Android 10 OS. Inside? The Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Chipset constructed on a 7nm Octa-core processor, and it has Adreno 640 GPU. On the other hand, the Samsung Note 10 Lite features Exynos 9810 SoC built on a 10nm Octa-core processor, and it offers Mali-G72 MP18 GPU.
Both devices have two RAM options, such as 6GB and 8GB, with 128GB internal storage options. On the back, these handsets bring triple-camera setups, but the Samsung S10 Lite has a 48MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture while the Note 10 Lite offers a 12MP primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite’s 12MP sensor has a sharper aperture, but it has a tiny sensor instead of S10 Lite’s 48MP sensor. For other rest optics – Galaxy Note 10 Lite has a 12MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture. The Samsung S10 Lite comes with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP dedicated macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The 5MP macro shooter of S10 Lite can shot as close as up to 4cm, and both phones can record 4k videos at 30fps as well as FHD videos at 30/60fps. Users can also record FHD videos at 30fps with 32MP selfie sensors. Samsung has announced these phones with an under-display fingerprint sensor for authentication. The battery capacities are 4,500 mAh with up to 25W fast charging support.
