Introduction
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite has been launched by Xiaomi as its latest mid-range smartphone with the Mi branding. The new Mi Note 10-series phone is third in the lineup after the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro. It retains the 3D curved AMOLED display that was available on the earlier Mi smartphones. However, apart from the display, there are various changes. The Mi Note 10 Lite is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC and comes with the quad rear camera setup. The smartphone also supports 30W fast charging. Furthermore, the Mi Note 10 Lite has three distinct color options.
Price and availability
The Mi Note 10 Lite price is set at EUR 349 (roughly Rs. 28,500) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The 6GB + 128GB model of the phone will retail at EUR 399 (roughly Rs. 32,600). Although the company has said there will be up to 8GB RAM on the phone, it hasn't revealed the price of an 8GB RAM model. The smartphone will be offered in Midnight Black, Nebula Purple, and Glacier White color options. Moreover, it will go on sale starting mid-May globally.
Design and display
With respect to design, the Mi Note 10 Lite has a curved AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch. The back is also covered in glass and curves at the sides. Xiaomi has redesigned the camera housing to appear different from that of its siblings but all the sensors are arranged vertically. Finally, Xiaomi ditches the Aurora Green color for a new and pretty cool Nebula Purple. You still get Glacier White and Midnight Black colorways. The Mi Note 10 Lite has a 6.47-inch 3D curved AMOLED display with TUV Rehiland low blue-light certification, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and support for HDR10. It offers a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels at 398 PPI density. Further, Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite has 87.8 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 430 nits maximum brightness.
Mi Note 10 Lite front and rear cameras
The Mi Note 10 Lite lives up to its “Lite” moniker with its camera configuration. It has a total of four rear cameras, unlike the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro that have five rear cameras. The primary rear camera is a 64MP 1.6μm Sony IMX686 sensor. There is also an 8MP 120-degree ultra-wide-angle camera, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. Xiaomi has paired the sensors with a double LED flash. The Mi Note 10 Lite can record in 4K and also in slow-motion at 960fps. Other camera features are a vlog mode, night mode, macro mode, portrait mode, and an AI document scanner. On the front panel, it has a 16MP sensor with f/2.5 aperture, 1/3.1" and 1.0µm pixels. The selfie shooter can record only full HD videos at 30fps.
Battery, software, and processor
There is a Snapdragon 730G processor under the hood and buyers will be able to choose from between a 6GB RAM + 64GB version and a 6GB RAM + 128GB version. This Chipset is manufactured on an 8nm Octa-core processor (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver). The Snapdragon 730G SoC offers up to 15% faster graphics rendering over the standard Snapdragon 730. In addition to the gaming improvements, the Snapdragon 730G has a few imaging-related enhancements as well.
Qualcomm says the 730G supports Cinemagraphs and 720p super slow-motion video recording at 960fps. In a nutshell, the Snapdragon 730G is basically a Snapdragon 730 with an overclocked GPU and several Snapdragon Elite Gaming features. There is a 5260mAh battery inside with support for 30W fast charge (30W fast charger included). The Mi Note 10 Lite also has an in-display fingerprint scanner, an audio jack, NFC, and an IR blaster. The phone ships with MIUI 11 based on Android 10.
