Coming toward Samsung Foldable Phone, the Galaxy Z Flip Price could be €1,400.

Original Story

The puzzle of the naming scheme for the upcoming Samsung S flagship seems to be solved, thankfully. Whispers are, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy S20 family behind secret doors at CES 2020 along with the Galaxy Z Flip, which is said to be the next Samsung Foldable Phone instead of Galaxy Fold 2. As the Samsung S20 launch is coming closer, fans are excited to explore more about upcoming Samsung flagship phones. Here, we round-up all the latest rumors, leaks, and other reports surrounding S20 and its siblings, i.e., S20+ and S20 Ultra.

Samsung S20 Release Date

Samsung is ready to unveil the Galaxy S20 lineup a week ahead of MWC 2020. Yes, you heard, right. The Korean brand, via its official Twitter account, invites for Unpacked Event on February 11 in San Francisco, USA.

How many Samsung S phones will be there at Unpacked Event?

Samsung dropped the economy version of S20, unlike it did with S10e last year. Instead, we will see a more powerful version than regular S20 and S20+, and the new Samsung marvel hero might be called S20 Ultra. It is unconfirmed that the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus will get built-in 5G connectivity or bring separate 5G versions. However, the S20 Ultra is promising to be the next Samsung 5G smartphone. There will be three Galaxy S cell phones if there is no separate 5G version for any of them. In the opposite case, we would see a total of Five Samsung mobiles at the Unpacked Event.

Galaxy S20 family Price and Pre-orders

The price of Samsung S10 and S10+ were $900 and $1,000 – the same prices we are expecting for S20 and S20+, respectively. As far as S20 Ultra 5G is concerned, it could cost $1,300 as the S10 5G got a similar price label back in 2019. the Galaxy S20 series will hit the shelves in March 2020, but the pre-orders for early buyers will get started right after the official unveiling.

Samsung S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra 5G: Everything You Need to Know

How will Samsung S20 series look like?

Some CAD-based renders by Onleaks suggested that Galaxy S20 family will have an Edge Display with a centered hole-punch selfie lens on top. There is perhaps the Gorilla Glass 6 by Corning for protection. On the back, a camera bump is aligned vertically on the top-left corner. The bump contains triple lenses for S20, but a Quad Back Camera setup for S20+ and S20 Ultra. Unluckily, the Galaxy S20 smartphones are the first in S lineup to remove 3.5mm jack. It may arrive with the AKG USB Type-C set of earphones. No physical fingerprint sensor indicates an under-display FR. Rumors claimed an Ultra-Sonic Fingerprint Scanner rather than a regular optical sensor in S20 Smartphones.

What we can expect is IP6X rating for the whole S20 family and aluminum should be used to fabricate. Thus, they will be dust and water-resistant up to 2 meters for a 30minutes session.

Max Winebach at XDA Developers posted an S20+ Hands-on video in which the handset revealed in all of its glory. The design is similar, as Shown by S20 renders. Max said, "The Galaxy S20+ is a massive device, coming much taller than the Galaxy S10+."

Evan Blass, a reliable tipster with a soundtrack in history, took Twitter to suggest three different sizes – 6.4in for S20, 6.7in for Plus, and a 6.9in for S20 Ultra Phablet. It is not hard to believe since the smartphone screens are getting bigger and bigger over time. We had already seen a 6.7inches display by Samsung S10 5G last year.

S20 Display

All of the S20 smartphones are different in size, but they have the same AMOLED screen, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz display for smoother video streaming. Users can switch to a 60Hz display refresh rate anytime. The Resolution should be FHD+ for S20 and QHD+ for S20 Plus and Ultra.

S20 Hardware

We knew Qualcomm had launched the new-gen Snapdragon 865 chipset. The successor Exynos SoC 9825 has come up too. Both are built on 7nm architecture. Following the previous pattern, we expected the Samsung S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra will be powered by SD 865 processor for the USA and China model. However, Asia and the European model of S20 and S20+ will borrow the power of Exynos 9825. The remaining S20 Ultra is rumored to bring Exynos 990. Let’s see the benchmark scores to find out which version is better.

Exynos 9825 achieved 4466 and 9751 scores respectively in Geekbench single and multi-core performance tests. On the other hand, Snapdragon 865 received 4303 for single-core and 13344 for multi-core performance. It means Exynos 9825-powered S20 and S20 Plus models will be better in single task execution, and Snapdragon-powered S20 and S20+ models will perform better for overall multitasking. At last, the S20 Ultra’s Exynos 990 ranked 4160 in a single-core test and 12946 scores in multi-core performance.

Talking about memory, Max Wingback suggested via Twitter that there will be three S20 Ultra storage variants - 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. There are only two RAM options, 12GB for standard and 16GB for the most premium version. We don’t know how RAM and ROM would be configured. It will keep the SD card to let the user expand memory up to 1TB.

Despite Exynos 990 allows it, the whisper of 16GB RAM for Ultra should be taken with a pinch of salt since we have not seen any 16GB RAM variant earlier in any Galaxy A phones, as the brand experienced the test in a mid-ranger before implanting newer technology in a high-end flagship. For example, the Samsung first 5G phone was the Galaxy A90 5G. Similarly, the first pop-up and rotating camera phone by Samsung was Galaxy A80.

Coming to the S20 and S20+, they should get 8GB RAM at least for standard and a premium version with up to 12GB RAM. Storage options are as such 128GB, 256GB and 512GB.

S20 Camera

A tipster, Ice Universe via Twitter, hinted that the Galaxy S20 would have triple cameras configuration - 12MP+64MP+12MP. Samsung S20+ is going to add an extra 3D Time of Flight camera, while the rest of the sensors are identical to standard S20. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra will surprise fans with a 108MP camera, and the others are as follows - 48MP, 12MP, and 3D ToF. Both Exynos 990 and SD865 are eligible for a 108MP sensor, so we can at least think about it.

The story does not end here. XDA developer’s Winebach whispered a 100X Hybrid Zoom capability for S20 Ultra. Once again, there is silence on S20 and S20 Plus.

What we expect is Samsung S20 trio will be capable of 4k video recording, having EIS and OIS support, and it also lets you make FHD super slow-mo videos at 960fps. The traditional 12-megapixels f/1.5 to f/2.4 switchable aperture is there for low-light photography. Selfie Camera might be of 10MP. Face ID will be improved for a more secure facial unlock.

S20 Battery and Charging Capabilities

As per the rumors, Galaxy S20 will have a 4000mAh battery, and the S20 Plus will get a 4500mAh battery, whereas the S20 Ultra is suggested to bring a 5000mAh battery. Max Wineback has not only tipped 5000mAh battery for S20 Ultra but also claimed a 45W Fast Charge. The same source told the Ultra to be recharged from 0 to 100% in 74min. For S20 and S20+, we anticipated a 65W Fast Charge since both chipsets (Exynos and Qualcomm) are efficient. Also, Wireless Charge should be of 25 watts for the entire S20 series.
