MWC 2017: TCL Unveils BlackBerry KEYone Smartphone with a Physical Key Board

BlackBerry revealed its first TCL made smartphone on Saturday at MWC Barcelona. The smartphone comes with Keyboard and touch screen and called BlackBerry KEYone. TCL is focusing on BlackBerry’s strong reputation security and productivity so the company enhanced battery life and quality specifications in the smartphone.

 
The KEYone smartphone comes with a larger screen and compared to other devices in the BlackBerry’s portfolio. The device gives flexibility of using touch screen or keypad depends on customers’ preference so you don’t have to bindfor 5.5 inch touch panel. Alex Thurber, general manager of BlackBerry Ltd’s Mobility Solutions unit, “We have worked closely with TCL to build security and the BlackBerry experience into every layer of KEYone, so the BlackBerry DNA remains very much in place.”


Coming towards specifications, the smartphone features 4.5 inch display with aluminum frame and textured back panel. It has a 12MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. The smartphone Android 7.0 Marshmallow and allow users to experience all latest features of the OS. The device also runs BB messages app which will be built into BlackBerry’s own products as well.


The KEYone Smartphone is unveiled ahead of Mobile World Congress 2017, the smartphone will be priced around $549 and it will be available for purchase in April. Previously, TCL was a contract manufacturer for BlackBerry now licenses the mobile brand and gives the Canadian corporation a cut of each smartphone retailed.
