BLU Studio Energy Review The Power Bank

Editor Rating: 3.9 / 5

Modern era is for the large size smartphones which must be faster in performance, have good display resolution, massive camera and a giant and powerful power source for running the handset is logical manner. So far companies have been concentrating on different aspects of the smartphones like improving the software, apps, RAM, on board memory, processor and different features of camera. While having so much packed into smartphone the energy aspect also needs to be taken care of. Now the BLU Studio Energy has provided this answer with a 5000mAh superb battery. It is a logical development which is necessary energized the smartphone with such a work load.

Build and Design

While describing the design which is the most basic part for grabbing the attention of the users we need to look the handset very minutely. Apparently there is nothing very particular in the design  and carries a conventional rectangular flat shape. However considering the battery size it certainly looks thicker and bigger. The more important is faster performance and higher display resolution for smooth performance and clear display. In physical dimension it is 144.5 x 71.5x 10.4mm thick and has a weight of 180 grams. Now the difference is in thickness. BLU is not conscious of thin appearance but as really focused on something material and useful that is the super battery. It is made up with the soft glossy plastic which not give the cheap look to the handset. In weight and size it is quite manageable and convenient in handling.

As we already said that there is a trend for large size handsets and the small sizes of screen seems obsolete. The BLU Studio Energy carries 5 inches IPS display protected with Gorilla Glass 3 and has 720x1280 pixels resolution. The display is quite bright and powerful and while web browsing is quite convenient and visible from the distance does not strain the eye. The display features are quite impressive and pleasant except the colors are not 100% natural. We must not be led away by merely saying a few words about the colors. The display of the BLU Studio Energy is quite attractive and brightly visible.

Software and User Interface

BLU Studio Energy runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system but the notification panel presents the different look. BLU is trying to upgrade its devices to the latest version of Android therefore BLU Studio Energy is also expected to be upgraded with the latest 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The interface is user friendly and lot many features of interest for the users to keep them busy with their smartphone. The menu panel is well arrayed with many icons to facilitate the user in using the appropriate app. However we must not forget that super battery brings out every thing in split of the second on the screen.

Processor and Memory

While discussing processor and memory we find nothing very impressive on this account and is configured in a very ordinary manner. It contains the quad core 1.3GHz processor paired with MediaTek MT6582 system on chip and Mali 400 GPU for handling the graphical tasks. The handset has 1 GB RAM along with along with 8 GB on board memory which can be further extended up to 64 GB via microSD card. It is surprising how it handles processor intensive apps like multimedia and heavy 3D games.

In the camera section we do not really find something very impressive as compare to the many other smartphones it is far behind because the BLU Studio Energy is provided with 8MP rear camera. However we must not think low of this 8 MP camera because it is provided with many good features and satisfies the need of common users. The front facing camera is 2 mega pixel. The basic aim of BLU is to provide long lasting battery rather than heavily configured smartphone. The camera section gives good results and does not lack in any respect.

BLU STUDIO ENERGY BATTERYBLU give the really big boost to the handset in the from of BLU Studio Energy which is come up with the 5000 mAh biggest  battery there is no handset give the challenge to the BLU Studio Energy in the account of battery till yet maybe in future some other rivals try to give up to the BLU Studio Energy. The battery of the handset is removable and users can change the power source if anything wrong happed with battery. The talk time provided by the handset is up to 50 hours and the stand by time of the battery is 45 days which keeps the handset on till 1.5 months.

Price and Release date

The BLU Studio energy was announced in January during CES and immediate after taking the official place the handset hit the markets from same month with the price of $149. The available colors of the handset are black, white and gold.

Bottom Line

While going through the specs sheet of this smartphone we find it a low budget mobile and nothing very special about it. The only thing is its massive and powerful battery which is the main reason to built a charm of  the users in the handset because everyone want to have the handset with the long lasting battery and BLU know the requirement of users and concentrate to provide the handset with the powerful power source rather than the fully packed mobile with the heavy configuration and users are able to purchase BLU Studio Energy in a competitive price of $149 which is really not the cost for this giant battery mobile.
