Samsung Galaxy S10e Quick Review

Last Update 2019-03-13

I prefer Samsung Galaxy S10e as an affordable alternative of Galaxy S10 and S10+ because it has almost identical features of these large and expensive phones of the brand, though the economy version lacks some specs they are unnecessary, the things which surprise me is its price and force me to prefer S10e to join Samsung S10 family against other flagship devices.

The design of S10e is similar to the design of S10 and S10+ but there is also some difference. The size of S10e is 5.8inches which is smaller than the size of S10 and S10+ which are 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch, respectively. By my point of view, the smaller size of S10e is not its drawback. Its smaller size is a plus point for those who like smaller phones. Small sized phones are beneficial since they are easy to handle with one hand and one can easily use it when holding.

Almost all the models of S10 works the same because their main features are similar like they have the same 64GB of internal storage, micro SD card slot for storage expansion and they also have same Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip which gives them 40% better single-core processor performance and 20% better graphics performance than last year's models. They also have waterproof and dust-resistance feature. Faster wired and wireless charging, same headphone jack, stereo speakers, and new Wireless Power Share feature for wireless charging accessories like the Galaxy Buds is also a common feature.

The S10e has a battery of 3,100 mAh which is smaller in comparison to S10 which have 3,400 mAh battery and also smaller than S10+ battery which is of 4,100 mAh. Its battery life is also less than the battery life of larger phones. The edges of S10e is not curved which is also a difference between S10e and larger phones. Its screen's resolution is Full HD+ (2,290 x 1,440) instead of WQHD+ (3,040 x 1,440) but having a shorter screen and low resolution doesn’t mean it has a less bright screen. It found its screen brighter than Apple's iPhone XR.

The cameras of S10e are also same as S10 and S10+. All the S10 models have a 10-megapixel camera with an f/1.9 aperture on front and a dual camera system with a 12-megapixel "main" shooter with variable f/1.5-2.4 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS) and a second 16-megapixel ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture and no OIS. But there is also a difference that S10e does not have 12-megapixel 2x telephoto lens on the S10 and S10+. But it’s not a big deal because the result of S10e is similar to many expensive phones.

Last but not the least, the S10e doesn’t have an in screen fingerprint scanner which is also a plus point of this phone because its power button has fingerprint scanner which is many times faster than an under-screen sensor. And this feature is my most favorite of this phone.

I prefer this Samsung smartphone because this is a flagship budget phone having all the features of expensive phones. All the other phones of $750 range are less efficient in comparison to S10e.
