Chinese tech giant Huawei is planning to launch its next flagship smartphones – Huawei P40 and P40 Pro in Paris in late March. The company is also said to unveil the Huawei P40 Pro premium Edition with Penta rear camera setup. The Premium Edition will have a periscope lens with 240mm focal length. Today (21-February), a Chinese reporter Techsina revealed that the upcoming Huawei P40 and P40 Pro would support WiFi 6+ technology, which is developed by Huawei. The report pointed out that WiFi 6+ is Huawei's self-developed technology and will be applied to the new P40 series. The report also claims that Huawei will announce new WiFi 6+ compatible routers on February 24. The newly released flagship phones Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra support the WiFi 6 standard. WiFi6 is a naming rule proposed by the WiFi Alliance, a wireless network standard. This technology uses MU-MIMO technology to allow the router to communicate with multiple devices at the same time. The highest bandwidth of WiFi 6 can reach 9.6Gbps, which is 2.7 times of the 802.11ac protocol that we commonly use now. Furthermore, recently, both Huawei P40 and P40 Pro appeared on TENNA listing, which reveals some key specs of the phones.
