Samsung has just launched a new image sensor called ISOCELL GN1. The company claims that it is the first image sensor to come with Dual Pixel and Tetracell technologies. It is built to capture stellar photos in low-light technologies. It is speculated that the Vivo X50 Pro debuting on June 1 will be the first smartphone to feature it.

The ISOCELL GN1 is a 50-megapixel image sensor with a large pixel size of 1.2micron. The image sensor promises DSLR-level autofocus speeds. The South Korean company stated that it offers a software algorithm which makes it possible to capture images with resolutions comparable to 100-megapixel. The mass production of the ISOCELL GN1 is slated to begin this month. Interestingly, Vivo China’s Product Manager Han Boxiao has shared a post that talks about the arrival of a phone with GN1 in the first half of the year. Hence, it is being speculated that the upcoming Vivo X50 series will come equipped with the new lens. A reliable Chinese tipster has claimed that the Vivo X50 Pro will indeed be the first phone to feature the Samsung GN1 50-megapixel sensor. He revealed that the company has sent the device to DxOMark for benchmark reports. He further confirmed that the Vivo X50 Pro has an eye-like gimbal camera system featuring the Samsung GN1 lens and a customized Sony lens. An official video released by the company showcases the AI quad-camera of the Vivo X50 Pro. At the front, it features a curved display with a punch-hole at the top-left corner.
