Lei Jun revealed Black Shark 3 is coming with new magnetic charging connector

The Xiaomi launched the Black Shark 2 Pro back in July last year, featuring a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC and 12GB of RAM at a compelling price of just $550. This year, the company is expected to launch the Black Shark 3, and we now have a few key details about the upcoming device. In a recent string of posts on Chinese social media platform Weibo, Xiaomi’s co-founder Lei Jun has revealed some juicy details about the upcoming Black Shark 3 smartphone. As per the post, the upcoming Black Shark 3 will be launched in China on March 3rd, and the handset will feature a unique magnetic charging port on the back panel.

A video about this new charging port reveals that the Black Shark 3 will arrive with a proprietary charger that will magnetically attach to the charging port and will feature 65W fast charging support. Interestingly, another published image also reveals that the Black Shark 3 will feature Tencent branding on the back, which suggests that we might see some special features or optimizations on the phone for games from the Chinese publisher. Recently, the phone appeared on AnTuTu with model number MBU-A0. The listing revealed that the phone supports 1440 x 3120 pixels resolution, and it is driven by the Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and 12 GB of RAM. It has a massive storage of 512 GB. In the CPU, GPU, memory and UX test of AnTuTu, the phone scored 181,539, 221,273, 122,234 and 87,605, respectively. Xiaomi Black Shark 3 reached an average benchmarking score of 612,651 on AnTuTu.
