Chinese tech giant Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra as its first phone with a 120W fast charging solution in August 2020. Today (31-May-21), the company unveiled its latest HyperCharge fast charging solutions to reveal what to expect from its smartphones in the future. Xiaomi’s newly announced 200W wired charging technology promises to charge a smartphone in just 8 minutes. Alongside it, the company also introduced its 120W wireless charging that can charge a phone in just 15 minutes.

In a new post on Twitter, Xiaomi has showcased a new charging technology called HyperCharge. It offers 200W wired charging and 120W wireless charging. Xiaomi has demonstrated the latest technology with a custom build of the Mi 11 Pro smartphone. The 200W wired charging can fill the 4,000mAh battery of the Mi 11 Pro from 0 to 100 percent in just 8 minutes. The 120W wireless charging sets a new world as well by filling up the battery of the Mi 11 Pro from 0 to 100 percent in just 15 minutes.
There is no word on the commercial release on the new charging tech. Unveiling the fast charging solution does not mean that Xiaomi will soon launch a device with a 200W charging support. Many factors like safety, thermal management, certification, etc., come into play before making the product commercially available in a country. Even if the company does launch its new HyperCharge tech, we can expect it to see on premium smartphones later this year or early next year.
