Samsung Galaxy Buds Live Full Review

Last Update 2020-08-08

Samsung has launched a new Galaxy Buds Live alongside Galaxy Note 20 series at the Unpacked Event. Get a match for your smartphone, as the Galaxy Buds Live arrives in three colors White, Black, and Bronze. All colors are beautiful, but I've selected Mystic White for my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. You can purchase earbuds at Amazon across different countries. The Price of Samsung Galaxy Buds Live is $169 in the USA, £179 in the UK, and €189 in Europe (due to high VAT). Let's talk in detail.

Design

For the first time, I've tried Bean-shaped earbuds. Samsung has entirely redesigned the Galaxy Buds Live. At first, I was expecting it an unconventional design. But it's not the truth. The Galaxy Buds Live fits nicely into my ears, just as my AirPods do. Samsung Buds Live is too light (2-ounce weight), and even I forgot once that I'm worn these beans.

Comfort and Safety

I don't need it though, Samsung is adding Wingtips for the Galaxy Buds Live. Silicon Wingtips make you feel cushion for ears. I do not need to concern about the safety of Galaxy Buds Live, which have a magnetic bond with charging case and thus it won't fall accidentally as other earphones do. I've kept Galaxy Buds Live in my pocket for days and did not notice any scuffs or scratches (fine build quality).

App Features and Setting

Galaxy Buds Live comes with long press settings. I can pause/resume with playback with a single tap on any earbud. Clicking twice or thrice can play the next or previous track. Hold on for a while and call Bixby or Spotify, or Increase/Decrease Volume. You can also customize taps call and action via that App. A toggle is there "Find My Earbud" to ring the buds if you lost it. You can learn and customize these settings in Galaxy Buds App for iOS and Galaxy Wearable App for Android. I installed Galaxy Buds App in my iPhone SE (2020) and got Buds Live connected with a cell phone without any struggle. I appreciated the way how fast it connected to the Galaxy Note 20. Some exclusive features with Galaxy smartphones are Xbox Game streaming mode, hands-free Bixby control, and read aloud notifications, thanks to Buds Live.

Sound Quality

There are six modes you can switch between i.e. Normal, Treble Boost, Bass Boost, Soft, Clear, and Dynamic. Don't make it tough for you, because I experienced the best sound quality by default. At the office, ANC mode kept silent my background Air Conditioner noise, and I enjoyed it. But unfortunately, when I'm outside Active Noise Cancellation could not be dealt with nearby construction noise and traffic. This remembered me AirPods Pro, they are very professional at noise cancellation job. What I concluded is Galaxy Buds Live is okay for eliminating small noises.

As an AirPod user, I am shy about replacing any other earbud. That is not the case with Galaxy Buds Live, because the audio quality is very fine. There are 12mm Speakers, built on air vent design. I praised for Bass and enjoyed lively sounds of guitar strings, drums, and vocals.

Call Quality

I decided to test the Galaxy Buds Live microphone array. It is working very fine to call a friend. I also joyed clear sound while calling my basketball team, meanwhile, a friend noticed for some time that I'm muted and hard to hear. I made separate calls and all is okay. In a noisy street, ANC once again cannot silent background as AirPods do.

Battery Life

Left with joy and I spend two days with Galaxy Buds Live with a single charge. Samsung promised 8 hours of full heavy use with Galaxy Buds Live, and it somehow maintains to last longer even. You can charge Buds Live using Weird and Wireless Charge. The small beans won’t take a long to recharge with a cable in the retail package.
