LG K42 goes official with Helio P22 SoC and 4,000mAh battery (updated)

Update: Today (21-September), LG also unveils its new K71 smartphone with MediaTek Helio P35 Chipset. It has a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The LG K71 also comes with S-Pen support. The back features a triple camera setup with a 48MP primary shooter and 5MP ultrawide sensor accompanied by a 5MP depth helper. The phone boots Android 10 with LG’s UX interface.

LG K42 has been officially announced in the Dominican Republic. The phone succeeds the LG K31 that was launched in the US last month. The LG K42 comes with additional depth and macro cameras at the back, a 4,000mAh battery, a punch-hole display, and a unique wave pattern on its back with anti-scratch UV coating. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and MediaTek Helio P22 SoC under the hood. The LG K42 is also MIL-STD-810G certified.

The LG K42 has dual SIM support and runs Android 10 OS. The device features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a center-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with 3GB RAM power the phone. The phone is driven by a 4,000mAh battery. The LG K42 measures 165mm x 76.7mm x 8.4mm and it weighs 182 grams. For photography experience, the LG K42 houses a quad-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. There is an 8MP shooter on the front for selfies and video calling. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and a dedicated button for Google Assistant.
