Xiaomi Redmi K30 and K30 5G differences and Pre-order detail

Today (10 December), the Chinese tech giant has launched the Redmi K30 series with incredible design and features. Along with these two smartphones, Xiaomi also unveiled the RedmiBook 13 with a 10th generation Intel processor. The Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 5G have some differences (slightly) in specs like Chipsets, GPU, and fast charging. According to the Xiaomi, the Redmi K30 and K30 5G will be available for purchase in January 2020.

Both mobile phones are identical in specs, but the K30 lacks 5G connectivity. Aside from 5G connectivity, the Redmi K30 and K30 5G feature 6.67 inches IPS LCD with an 84.8% screen-to-body ratio. Along with the 20:9 aspect ratio, these support up to Full HD+ resolution with 1080 x 2400 pixels. Along with 208 grams weight both measure 165.3 x 76.6 x 8.8 mm (6.51 x 3.02 x 0.35 in) dimensionally. Like other new Smartphones, the Redmi K30 and K30 5G have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. An awesome thing! Both offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and the front panels are coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Redmi K30 and K30 5G run on the top of Android 10 OS customized with the MIUI 11 layer.

Under the hood, the Redmi K30 5G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB onboard storage. The SDM 765G chipset is constructed on a 7nm Octa-core processor (1x2.4 GHz Kryo 475 Prime & 1x2.2 GHz Kryo 475 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 475 Silver) and this new chipset offers 10 percent better performance than predecessor SDM 730G and the phone has Adreno 620 GPU. On the other hand, the Redmi K30 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G Chipset constructed on an 8nm Octa-core processor (2x2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6x1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver), and it offers Adreno 618 GPU. On the front panels, both phones have a pill-shaped notch for selfie experience. For best selfie experience, both offer 20MP primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 2MP depth shooter with f/2.4 aperture. You can record FHD videos at 30fps, and these also have HDR feature for better selfie experience.

The Redmi K30 and K30 5G have quad-camera setup on the back panel for photography experience. In the quad-camera setup, both offer 64MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture 26mm wider, 8MP ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP dedicated macro sensor which can shot as close as up to 4cm. For taking pretty photos, these support Dual-LED flash, HDR feature, and panorama mode, as well as both, can record slow-motion videos at 960fps. The Redmi K30 and K30 Pro can record 4K videos at 30fps and also record FHD videos at 30 and 120fps. Since both phones have powered by 4,500 mAh battery but the Redmi K30 can support up to 27W for quick charging while the Redmi K30 5G has 30W fast charging supported. You can charge Redmi K30’s battery 100 percent in 68 minutes while the Redmi K30 5G’s battery takes 57 minutes to full charge.
