Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the premium and more powerful edition of the Mate 10 to deliver latest and high-end features for a reasonable price. It is available in three model numbers. The BLA-L09 (single SIM) and BLA-L29 (Dual SIM) are used for global version of the Mate 10 Pro while the BLA-AL00 is used for the China version of the handset. All versions have the same specs including 6.0 inches (18:9 ratio) screen, AMOLED FHD+ display, Kirin 970 chipset, Leica Branded Dual 20MP + 12MP primary cameras, 8MP selfie lens, and 4000mAh battery.

Design
The Mate 10 Pro is manufactured with aluminum frame and 4-way curved glass design. It gives a strong and secure gripe when you hold the device. It has matte finish and gorilla glass equipped on both front and back to keep away scratches. The handset looks elegant and pretty. It is IP67 certified which ensures that the body of device can handle submersions up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. It measures 7.9 mm thickness and 179 grams weight. The smartphone has a bigger 6.0 inches screen. The bezels are very thin and increasing device beauty. A Selfie camera is available alongside the speaker grille. The sensors on screen work for Back, Home and Overview buttons.
A tray is available on left side of device to support Nano-SIM. On the right side, a power button and two volume controller keys are available. A secondary mic-pinhole and IR blaster are present on the top side. The bottom side is equipped with USB C port, primary mic and speakers. At the back of the handset, dual camera lenses are mounted vertically close to the dual LED flash. A fingerprint reader is embedded on rear that is easier to reach in order to unlock device instantly.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro has 6.0 inches display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Huawei used the AMOLED display is appreciated for brighter scenes. The bigger and better quality display doubles your watching and playing fun. It has 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution which helps you to see vibrant and bright pictures. Actually, the given pixels resolution is not enough to get apparent details so the display is supported with HDR10 complaint. Its normal mode brightness is 420 nits, 440 nits for vivid mode, and 620 nits maximum brightness for under the sunlight performance.
Processor and Chipset Performance
Huawei Mate 10 Pro is powered by the advanced Kirin 970 chipset which has its own NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that accelerates hardware and learns the machine tasks to manage workflow in a great way. Like the Mate 10, the performance of Mate 10 Pro is awesome. It is running on Octa core CPU which quickly reads your commands and accomplishes tasks. All is well except Mali-G72 GPU which has been selected for graphics. The graphical results are not higher as the other performance of device.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro is available in two RAM options. You can get either of 4GB or 6GB RAM smartphone. The 4GB RAM is huge for daily life usage but if you want to install more games and get smoother performance with heavy multi-tasking then you need to select the 6GB RAM. The smartphone comes in two storage options – 64GB and 128GB. There is lack of microSD slot therefore be careful when you are choosing any storage option to fulfill your needs.
Photography and Selfie performance
As far as optics is concerned, the device comes with dual 20MP + 12MP rear camera lenses. The 12MP lens is RGB for colorful images and the 20MP is monochrome for black & white pictures. Both lenses are Leica-branded and having f/1.6 aperture to capture more light. It is one of the best smartphone for the daylight photography. It takes clearer result pictures and records QHD videos. For the low light performance, there are dual LED flashlights.
Huawei Mate 10 Pro comes with a new feature called HiAI technology which is also known as AI Camera feature. During the recording, this AI Camera feature can recognize scenes and objects like cat, dog, spoons, flowers, nightscape, blue sky, sunrise and sunset etc.
There is an 8MP selfie camera as well. It can shoot your sharp and beautiful selfies. The selfies taken by it are enough bright to see easily. It is also good for video calling.
Software
The device is running on latest Android OS, 8.0 (Oreo) which is skinned with new Emotion UI 8.0, the interface which has impressive look, beautiful themes, smart tips, smart multi-column display and smart split screen support.
The Android Oreo based EMUI 8 having dynamic wallpapers, PC display mode, and intelligent Behavior Prediction. It supports AI powered technology which identifies scenes and object in real-time, and automatically adjusts color, contrast, brightness and exposure.
Battery
The Mate 10 Pro is backed by a 4000mAh battery which is perfect for 6.0 inch display smartphone. The Battery gets 96 hours endurance rating. Further, the battery is certified by TUV. It runs for a long time even with gaming and multi-tasking. It is supported with fast charging too so you can recharge power immediately. Unlike the other flagship smartphones, it has not wireless charging option.
Price
The 4GB+64GB Huawei Mate 10 Pro price is $800. And the 6GB + 128GB variant is available for $900.
Verdict
Huawei Mate 10 Pro has many improved features and high-end technology but some features are missing like wireless charging, no audio jack and no microSD slot. If you are fan of Mate series and want to get premium model and price doesn’t matter you then you go for 6GB+128GB version of Mate 10 Pro. Otherwise, you have another option to purchase Mate 10 which is slightly cheaper and has almost same specs with the advantage of QHD display and microSD slot. If you are looking for a more affordable Huawei smartphone then go for Honor V10.
