The Sony Xperia Ace 2 is official now as a new budget-friendly phone from the company. Currently, Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo is taking pre-orders for the Xperia Ace 2, which is available in three different colors: black, blue, and white. It will be available for purchase from May 28.

The Sony Xperia Ace 2 is a compact phone that offers a 5.5-inch display with HD+ resolution. In terms of dimensions, it measures 140 x 69 x 8.9mm and weighs around 159 grams. Interestingly, the phone also has an IP68 rating for dust and waterproofing, and is also protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 6 to improve the device’s durability. For photography experience, Sony Xperia Ace 2 has a dual-camera setup at the back, lead by a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

There is an 8MP front-facing camera for selfie experience. Under the hood, the Xperia Ace 2 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. The chipset is coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card. It also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Finally, Sony Xperia Ace 2 draws power from a 4,500 mAh battery.
