Design

Having a decent look, Spark 8 has a Plastic body, and the front panel is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It has a water-drop notch for the selfie camera. The back has a bump containing vertical-aligned camera setup. Fingerprint Reader is on the rear. The Spark 8 has all physical keys on the right side like the Power button and volume rockers. The left side of the phone has only a dual SIM tray while the bottom offers USB-C port and speaker grille.

Display and OS

The handset features a 6.5 inches IPS LCD that is enough large for not to swipe too much while reading. It sets a standard of HD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. Of course, the latest Android 11 Go edition is operating the smartphone. This software is light-weight and runs smoother on lower RAM gigs. HiOS 7.6 acts like skin and does the job of Tecno’s customized settings on Android. Optics

So-so camera setup of Spark 8 contains two lenses. The primary is a 16MP wide-angle sensor, while secondary is a QVGA sensor. As the main aperture is f/2.2, thus it does not perform any good at night mode. Taking images at daylight is however okay. It is eligible of Full HD video recording. On the front, you would find an 8MP selfie camera of f/2.0 aperture. It is quite good in daylight shots, but worsens results at low light.

Internal Specs

Tecno Spark 8 derives the power through Helio P22 chipset and Octa core processor. The handset obtained 345,000 AnTuTu scores in overall performance test. RAM is only 2GB. However, storage is massive 64GB. A dedicated MicroSD slot lets you expand memory. The mid-range device offers a 5,000 mAh battery that gives a full day of talks and hours of gameplay and watching. Contrarily, Charging is aggressive, taking about 2 hours, as Spark 8 is compatible with only standard 10W charge.

Verdict

For day-to-day tasks or moderate usage, Tecno Spark 8 is a good choice. But for gaming or muti-tasking, it is disappointing. You should choose a better alternative like Poco M3 – also you have to spend a little more money over Spark 8.
