GFXBench reveals the possible next Gen Asus ZenFone 4

After the ZenFone 3 series, Asus presents us with the successor to the powerhouse of a device, the new ZenFone 4. Recently, GFXBench benchmarking site revealed some of the features of the upcoming device.

Highlights from the benchmark listing:

The device features a 5.7” QHD display.

Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.1 GHz paired with 6GB RAM.

Housing an internal storage of 64GB and no confirmed indication regarding a microSD slot.

Running on Android 7.0 out of the box with a 21MP rear camera coupled with a front 8MP selfie camera.

With all that, this is not the first time the details of a ZenFone 4 have been revealed. Previously, a smaller 5.2” version with a 4850 mAh battery was revealed and in January, a model by the code X00GD was shown on the Chinese TENAA, the device was powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz paired with 2GB or 4GB RAM and a similar 21MP rear camera.

With the latest benchmark, we see a lot of differences between the specs and according to some reports, the device revealed on GFXBench may not be ZenFone 4, but a variant of the ZenFone 3 series.

Asus plans on launching its latest device chain around May 2017 which makes sense as we just saw the launch of the latest Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom in January at CES. A slight delay would help with the sales of the Zenfone 3 series. All in all, Asus plans on manufacturing a staggering 20 million sets of the new ZenFone 4 series in 2017.
