In August 2018, Microsoft had announced the Surface Go as its cheapest and smallest tablet. Recent reports have revealed that the company is working on the successor device called the Surface Go 2. Leaked details that surfaced last month suggested that the Surface Go 2 will be debuting in the coming weeks. Fresh information shared by Windows Latest reveals that Surface Go 2 has received certification from the Energy Star where some of its vital specs have been revealed.

First of all, the Energy Star listing claims that the Surface Go’s successor will be heading to the market as “Surface Go 2.” It has revealed that it is powered by the Intel Core m3-8100Y processor. Built with a 14nm process, the 8th-generation processor was introduced in 2018. The processor has two cores and four threads. It works at a base frequency of 1.1GHz. The “Max Turbo” frequency is 3.40 GHz. The chipset could be coupled with 8 GB of RAM. Previous reports suggested that the Surface Go 2 will be arriving with a 10.5-inch display. The original model had come with a smaller display. It is said that the size of the Surface Go 2 will remain as the predecessor model. Some of the other features that are expected to be available on the Surface Go 2 include Windows 10 home in S Mode, Windows Hello facial scanning, microSD card slot, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and Surface Connect port.
