Samsung Filed Trademark Application Galaxy S7 will have Always on Display

As the release date of Galaxy S7 is coming closer leaks and rumors about the device come each day. Now new details about the handset’s features are circulating around. Galaxy S7 will have Always On Display feature. Samsung filed a trademark application in the US so this news is pretty much confirmed.

We would see this feature in a couple of weeks because the unveiling date for Galaxy S7 is 21st February.  It seems that the company wants to own “Always On Display” brand name for its smartphones and tablets. Finally, it is heard that Samsung is working on this feature which will make its Android mobiles unique than its rival devices.

The feature is expected to work in a similar way that we have seen from from Nokia Windows Phones a few years ago. Samsung use AMOLED screens for its flagships and these screens don’t waste much battery power. When clock or other notifications will show on the device AMOLED screen won’t reduce battery.

It is expected that small portion of the screen will get Always Display On feature, and that portion will cover all necessary notifications on the device.  Trademark application is not mentioned for Galaxy S7 Edge model so there are chances that Samsung will reserve this feature for Galaxy S series. Some rumors also suggest that the feature will come in Galaxy Note 6 as well. Therefore, we have to wait for a few weeks to see this rumor coming true.
