Sony Xperia 8 Lite unveiled with 6-inch display and SDM 630 Chipset

Sony has quietly launched a brand new mid-range smartphone – Sony Xperia 8 Lite in the Japanese market today. The phone comes with dual rear camera setup and Snapdragon 630 SoC. Sony Xperia 8 Lite is priced at JPY29,800, or about $280/€235. It comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage and two color options (White and Black). The phone will go on sale in Japan starting September 1st.

The Xperia 8 Lite has a 6-inches FHD+ Triluminous LCD display which offers a nice 20:9 aspect ratio. Just like most other Xperia smartphones, the Xperia 8 Lite also has a thick bezel at the top which houses an 8 megapixel (f/2.0 aperture) selfie camera. On the rear side, the Xperia 8 Lite comes with a pill-shaped camera module which houses a 12 megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) primary shooter, and an 8 megapixel (f/2.4 aperture) telephoto camera. Other than that, there will be a side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well. Under the hood, the handset is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 630 chipset. The SoC is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage that could be further expanded by up to 512GB via a microSD card. To keep its lights on, the Xperia 8 Lite has a 2,870mAh battery that is able to support long hours of usage within a single charge. The phone runs Android 9 OS. Sony Xperia 8 Lite also comes with IPX5/IPX8 waterproof certification and IPX6 dustproof certification.
