Honor held a launch event in China today to announce the Honor 30S premium mid-range phone. The Honor 30S, which succeeds the Honor 20S from last year, is the first phone to be powered by the Kirin 820 5G-ready chipset. The rear side of the phone has a quad-camera setup, while on the front you get a punch-hole display for a screen-to-body ratio.

The Honor 30S flaunts a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with full HD+ resolution. It offers a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3 percent. The phone offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. While the phone’s predecessor, the Honor 20S, was powered by the Kirin 810 chipset, the 30S comes equipped with the 7nm Kirin 820 5G SoC. The SoC includes a Mali G57 GPU and an enhanced NPU unit. The quad cameras of the Honor 30S include an f/1.8 64-megapixel primary lens with a large pixel size of 1.6micron, an 8-megapixel wide-angle snapper with a 120-degree field-of-view, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom and a 2-megapixel macro lens with 4cm focal length. The handset sports a front camera of 16-megapixels. The Honor 30S has a 4,000mAh battery with 40W superfast charging technology. The Android 10 OS customized with Magic UI 3.1.1 comes preloaded on the Honor 30S.
