Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at TF international securities, has reported two Apple iPhones (2020) with 5.4in and 6.7in would bring support for 5G connectivity, whereas the third iPhone will measure 6.1in screen and capable of LTE, not 5G.

All of iPhones 2020 will have OLED Display technology. It is said the 5.4-inch device will be standard iPhone 12 while the 6.7-inch smartphone will be iPhone 12, Max. However, a left one 6.1-inch display phone will be an affordable version, iPhone 12 R.

It’s surprising the Apple is moving back to the smaller phones as if 5.4in iPhone will exist, while the max will really get max (6.7in iPhone) would behave like a phablet.

Coming back to the topic, Kuo said Apple will use Qualcomm chip and modem for 5G so iPhone 12 and 12 Max would not allow Apple chipset, but iPhone 12 R could grab one Apple Bionic chip being an LTE version.

As for now, the Apple iPhones 2019 will debut this fall, most probably in September and they are likely to have Intel chipsets and modems.

According to another report, iPhones for 2019 may not support 5G as we know for Apple it is too late to make a 5G-capable smartphone. Because of the dispute between Qualcomm and Apple, the American iPhone maker has no option to access 5G modem, and we know Intel has to take more time to build 5G-capable modems and is currently unable to provide this service to Apple.

Recently, Qualcomm and Apple are successful to make a deal with each other, but it would bring fruitful results next year, therefore it is not hard to believe the Kuo’s claim of 5G-capable iPhones 2020.

Long story short, the First 5G iPhone will arrive in 2020, not this year sadly.
