The CEO of Xiaomi, Lin Bin has shared a video on the Weibo platform. The video teaser revealed a Xiaomi Foldable Smartphone which can be folded from both left and right sides. Lin Bin suggested two names for the smartphone, Dual Flex or MIX Flex. He asked fans to select a suitable name for a double-sided folding device. The handset is the first of its type. Lin Bin shared Xiaomi will launch the world’s first phone with such a display that can be folded from both hands (left and right). As we know Royole Flexpai or any smartphone like Samsung Galaxy Fold are not featuring such a design or form factor.
It is reported the device shown in the video is just a prototype as it is difficult in reality to manufacture a device with double folding design. Lin Bin described building such a device they need to develop a folding screen, four-wheel drive shaft technology, flexible cover, and special MIUI software.
Lin Bin said the Xiaomi Dual Flex or MIX Flex with a double-folded form factor would deliver a combining experience of tablet and smartphone. You can unfold to stretch 6 or 7 inches display. It will offer at least 3 inches for the folded mode. Xiaomi CEO didn’t describe Xiaomi Dual Flex will use 2x displays or a single big screen.
Xiaomi assured they will take the stage at MWC 2019 show. Therefore, we are expecting the Chinese Company will introduce Xiaomi Dual Flex at the same time.
