Honor V30 vs. Honor V30 Pro specs, design and differences

Last year, Huawei sub-brand Honor had launched the Honor V20 with punch-hole design and dual rear camera setup. Yesterday (26-Nov), Huawei launched the other two new devices with dual selfie shooters, side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as 5G support. Initially, the company unveiled the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro in China while the other regions will receive both mobile phones in the mid of December (as expected).

Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro specs, design and differences

In terms of design, the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro are identical, but both have some differences in specs and features (especially cameras). Both phones offer side-mounted fingerprint readers, dual punch-holes, and triple-camera setups. You’ll get the power button on the right sides while volume rockers on the left sides. Dimensionally, the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro measure 162.7 x 75.8 x 8.9 mm, but the regular version has heavier 213 grams weight while the pro variant arrives with 206 grams of weight.

The Huawei Honor V30 has two RAM options 6/8GB with 128GB ROM, and on the other, the pro variant offers two storage options, 128GB/256GB with 8GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there is no option for a microSD card slot. Both phones run Android 10 OS customized with Magic UI3 layer, and these offer Mali-G76 MP16 GPU. One interesting difference in both devices is processors – the Honor V30 has powered by Kirin 990 SoC constructed on 7nm Octa-core while the Honor V30 Pro offers 7nm+ Kirin 990 Chipset. The Honor V30 Octa-core processor packs 2x2.86 GHz Cortex-A76 and 2x2.09 GHz Cortex-A76 and 4x1.86 GHz Cortex-A55 while Honor V30 Pro’s processor has 2x2.86 GHz Cortex-A76 and 2x2.36 GHz Cortex-A76 and 4x1.95 GHz Cortex-A55. Both phones feature a 6.57 inches IPS LCDs that could support up to Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, and these offer an 84.9% screen-to-body ratio. On the selfie side things, the Honor V30 and Honor V30 Pro are identical as well. Both devices have 32MP with an f/2.0 aperture primary sensor and 8-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide shooter. Moreover, the V30 and V30 Pro have the same 40MP primary sensors, but V30’s sensor has f/1.8 aperture instead of V30 Pro’s f/1.6 aperture, and both devices also have the same 8MP with f/2.4 aperture telephoto shooters. The Honor V30 offers an 8MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.4 aperture while the V30 Pro has a 12MP ultra-wide shooter with f/2.2 aperture. You can record 4K and FHD videos at 30fps while slow-motion videos at 960fps, and the front camera also can record FHD videos at 30fps. In terms of battery capacities, the V30 has 4,200 mAh massive battery while the Pro variant packs a 4,100 mAh battery, and both can support up to 40W for quick charging. The Honor V30 Pro also supports up to 27W for wireless charging while V30 hasn’t offered wireless charging option.
