As scheduled, Realme has officially announced its first V-series smartphone – Realme V5 5G in the Chinese market today. Realme V5 comes with a Dimensity 720 chipset and offers a punch-hole display design. For those who’re interested, the Realme V5 will be offered in three different colorways including Blue, Green, and Silver. The device costs 1,499 Yuan ($215) and 1,899 Yuan ($272) for its 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB variants respectively.
The Realme V5 5G features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display that delivers Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 20:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone offers 90.7 percent screen space and it is protected by Gorilla Glass panel. Under the hood, the Realme V5 is fueled by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC which allows the device to support 5G connectivity for both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes. The SoC is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. In terms of optics, the handset features a quad-camera setup at the back which includes a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro unit, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, there is a 16MP front-facing sensor on the Realme V5. A massive 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support fuels the phone. As usual, it runs on the custom Realme UI (based on Android 10 OS).
