Early rumors about Google’s next-generation phone - the Pixel 6 have started surfacing on the web. While it remains to be seen whether Google will unveil as a mid-range phone similar to Pixel 5, a new patent discovered by Patently Apple reveals a Pixel phone with no punch-hole cutout, pop-up lens, or water-drop notch. The absence of a cutout within the display or on the phone’s body (pop-up camera module) is a good indication the Google Pixel 6 may come with an under-display front camera.

The patent also reveals other details about Google Pixel 6, including the basic design of the phone and the location of the rear camera. The patent shows that the design and location of the main camera module will remain unchanged from what was seen on the Pixel 5. As such, the patent suggests that the camera setup will include two sensors and an LED flash. Unfortunately, the patent does not reveal any details about the specs of the upcoming smartphone but recent reports have suggested Google Pixel 6 will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone is expected to launch in the second half of 2021.
