Xiaomi unveiled Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro

Finally, Chinese brand has launched two new mid-range smartphones – Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. India has become the first one to get these devices. Both handsets are well equipped with 18:9 aspect ratio screens. The Redmi Note 5 sports 5.99-inch display and FHD+ resolution. The touchscreen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass3. Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) is skinned with MIUI 9 overlay. In terms of optics, a 12MP lens mounted on rear while a 5MP camera present on front. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 chipset. The handset is armed with a 4000mAh battery supported with Fast Charging option. Fingerprint Sensor is available on back, too. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 comes in two variants, 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage. Both variants are priced at INR 9,999 ($155) and INR 11,999 ($185) respectively.


So far as Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is the upgraded version of Redmi Note 5. The Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with Dual 12MP + 5MP primary cameras and a 20MP Selfie Snapper. It is powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset. Other features are similar to Redmi Note 5 including 5.99" display, FHD+ resolution, 4000mAh battery, and Fingerprint Security. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is also available in two variants. The 4GB RAM + 64GB Memory option is priced at INR 13,999 ($218) whereas the 6GB RAM + 64GB Memory option is offered for INR 16,999 ($265). Currently, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro both are available on sale at online stores in India but later it will be shipped in other countries.
