Sharp Aquos R5G announced with SDM 865 and 12GB RAM

Sharp has unveiled a new 5G flagship Android phone – Aquos R5G with a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Chipset. The new flagship smartphone has a U-shaped notch at the top for a selfie sensor and an under-display fingerprint sensor. There is a vertically shaped quad-camera setup on the back panel for the photography experience. The phone arrives in blue, white, and a color-shifting variant similar to the Aura Glow variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note10 Plus. Initially, Sharp has announced this device in its home country (Japan) while it will land in other countries soon.

The Sharp Aquos R5G comes with a 6.5 inch IGZO QHD+ resolution of 1440 x 3168 pixels. The screen has Adobe RGB support and a built-in image control technology called Rich Color that automatically adjusts the screen depending on the scene. It also supports Dolby Vision and U-NEXT HDR content. Under the hood, it has an SDM 865 SoC, which is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 onboard storage. In the quad-camera setup, there is a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, a 48MP super wide-angle, a 12MP primary sensor, and a ToF shooter. The selfie sensor is a 16MP with an f/2.0 aperture. Sharp claims that the phone can record 8K videos and runs Android 10 OS.
