The Nokia 9 might not have a 4GB RAM variant

A recent letter sent to the US’s Federal Communication Commission (FCC) by HMD Global, the company who holds alicense to the Nokia name, requested for a change in the model number of the Nokia 9 from TA-1004 to TA-1012. The FCC had already certified the TA-1004 model.

Geek bench test results had shown that the model TA-1004 is equipped with a 4GB RAM while the Model TA-1012 is to come with a 6GB RAM. 9Thismeans that maybe the HMD Global has cancelled the 4GB RAM variant of the Nokia 9 in favour of the 6GB RAM. So we likely will not be getting any 4Gb RAM Nokia 9.

Another Geek bench result had revealed another model with an 8GB RAM; itis codenamed the Unknown Heart. An 8GB RAM might seem likean overkill;but many will not complain as the Nokia 9 is said to be pricey and with a powerful processor like the Snapdragon 835 under the hood, the Nokia 9 will be one of the most powerful devices in 2017. So the possible variants that will be hitting stores when the Nokia 9 is officially launchedare the 6Gb and 8GB model.

Other likely specs for the device include a Dual SIM support, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, snapdragon 835, 64GB storage, Android Nougat, IP68 Water and Dust resistant and a5.3-inch display. As expected of a Nokia phone, the Nokia 9 will be equipped with great cameras at the front and the back, we are likely to see a 13-megapixel front and rear cameras and from the leaked images below, a dual rear camera setup.

The Nokia 9 is one of the most anticipated phones of the year, it is Nokia’s first flagship after a return to the smartphone world through HMD Global, and it will not be cheap, a price within the range of 650-700 US dollars is to be expected. The device has been rumoured to launch in June, July or August while it should be available in stores globally by September. Whenever it comes and in whatever variant, we are expectant of the first Nokia flagship after the resurrection of the Nokia name.
