Privacy is a matter of concern. And WhatsApp is putting its best to let the consumers have better privacy and end-to-end encrypted chat. The social media messaging app introduced a new photo and video feature named "View Once". Sending a picture or footage via View Once means the recipient would be able to see it just one time. After the first visibility, the View Once footage will disappear in a moment and won’t be accessible again.
The update sounds pretty nice for sensitive information like Wi-Fi passwords. It is a good effort toward a more confident and private conversation. Yet, there is a problem. The help article for the update admits the viewer or the recipient can take screenshots while opening View Once footage for the first time. WhatsApp also warned that View Once photo or video might be recorded via screen recorder.
We hope WhatsApp would continue to improve itself, and provide clients with an even safe, confident, and better conversation.
