Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 hands-on and differences

Samsung has launched the first members of its Galaxy A (2020) series – Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71. Samsung has unveiled these devices with L-Shaped quad-cameras and punch-hole displays at an event in Vietnam. The Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 pre-orders will start on December 16, while the shipment will begin on December 27 in Vietnam. Yet, the company hasn’t revealed any information about the global availability of these new released mobile phones, but as expected, the Galaxy A51 and A71 will come in other markets soon. The Galaxy A51 has offered 6GB of RAM with 128GB native storage, and it is available in Prism, Crush Black, White, Blue, and Pink color options. On the other hand, the Galaxy A71 comes with 128GB native storage, and it offers 6GB/8GB RAM options, and you can purchase this device in Prism, Crush Black, Silver, Blue, and Pink colors.

Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 features and differences

Samsung has built both devices with a Plastic body frame, and Galaxy A51 measures 158.5 x 73.6 x 7.9 mm (6.24 x 2.90 x 0.31 in), and its weight is 172 grams. On the other hand, the Galaxy A71 measures 163.6 x 76 x 7.7 mm (6.44 x 2.99 x 0.30 in) and offers 179 grams weight (heavier than Galaxy A51). Both devices provide Full HD+ resolution with 1080 x 2400 pixels, but Galaxy A71 has a slightly bigger 6.7 inches AMOLED display while A51 brings 6.5 inches AMOLED display. Although Galaxy A51 has a smaller screen and it offers 87.4% screen-to-body, while Galaxy A71 has an 87.2% screen-to-body ratio. Both phones have under-display fingerprint technology for authentication.

Both smartphones run One UI 2.0 based on the top of Android 10, and Galaxy A51 has Mali-G72 MP3 instead of Galaxy A71’s Adreno 618 GPU. Under the hood, the Galaxy A51 has Exynos 9611 SoC constructed on a 10nm Octa-core processor (4x2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53), whereas the Galaxy A71 has Snapdragon 730 (8nm) Chipset. For photography lovers, both devices have L-Shaped quad rear camera setups on the back, but Galaxy A51 has 48MP primary lens. The Galaxy A51 has a 48MP primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP depth shooter with f/2.2 aperture. On the other hand, the Galaxy A71 offers a 64MP immersive primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture, a 5MP macro shooter with f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor. Along with quad-cameras, the Galaxy A71 can record 4k videos at 30fps as well as FHD videos at 30/240fps, while the Galaxy A51 can record only FHD videos at 30fps. Both mobile phones have 32MP selfie sensors, but Galaxy A51 offers f/2.2 aperture instead of Galaxy A71’s sharper f/2.0 aperture.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 has packed a 4,000 mAh battery that can support up to 15W for fast charging. On the other hand, the Galaxy A71 offers 4,500 mAh huge battery capacity with 25W rapid charging supported. Unfortunately, there is no option for wireless charging connectivity.
