Xiaomi has announced the Redmi 8A Pro smartphone with a water-drop notch and 5,000 mAh battery in Indonesia. The phone is equipped with an AI-powered dual-camera setup on its rear panel. Another notable feature of the phone is that it comes with support 18W fast charging for its massive battery. The Redmi 8A Pro is not an entirely new phone. It is the rebranded variant of the Redmi 8A Dual phone that was launched in February in India. The Redmi 8A Pro has landed in Indonesia with a starting price of RP 1,549,000 ($93). It can be bought in three colors, such as Sky White, Sea Blue, and Midnight Grey.
The Redmi 8A Pro has a 6.22-inch IPS LCD display panel with a water-drop notch and HD+ resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 panel. The rear shell of the phone has a splash-resistant coating. Under the hood, it draws power from the Snapdragon 439 Chipset coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage. The Redmi 8A Pro has a front camera of 8-megapixels with f/2.0 aperture. The back panel of the phone offers a dual-camera setup with an LED flash. It includes a PDAF assisted a 13-megapixel primary lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Redmi 8A Pro comes with support for Google Lens, portrait mode, and Full HD video recording at 30fps. The Redmi 8A Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging through USB-C. The device runs Android 10 OS skinned with MIUI 11.
